1886 Postal Cover  In a recent Ebay sale (1/5/21), another interesting cover set from Thomas Wales, Secretary, came up for bid. It’s a beautiful etched cover on a U.S. U113 1¢ Franklin embossed envelope, addressed to a potential customer in New Jersey. Postmarked in Iowa City in August 1886, the enclosed sale flyer has a treasure-trove of items for sale through the Association.

It’s a letter written on State University of Iowa stationary and includes a beautiful cachet etching of the University campus.
